Alfa romeo 147

Taking the battery out of my Alfa 147 02plate

Hi people was told about this site & i have a 2002 Alfa Romeo 147 lusso 2.0L & had a low battier light saying low & then turned the car off & will now not start i have been told its my alternator but need to take my batterer out of my car... but have all this things on.... look at the photo... can anyone help? thanks guys/Girls

The battery posts are at the top right (red positive lead clamped to the battery terminal - half hidden by that BBoB stuff...) and bottom right (black, negative lead)... which you can see more clearly.

Just undo the bolts on the batterry terminals and life them off.

Unbolt the negative lead first.. place the lead somewhere where it won't spring back and touch the battery post.

Then do the positive lead. The Black Box of bits is probably attached to the red lead somehow and should lift off with it (or it may be attached to teh battery itself.. I dunno.. but the bolt to undo is the one holding the red lead to the battery post).

The strap can then be undone and battery taken out.
