Whilst working away on my Alfa this week, despite looking good on the surface, I've come to realise that the thing is rusting away before my very eyes behind the scenes.
Whilst removing various fittings and fixtures from the rear axle, I noticed that I can pretty much gouge holes in it at will with a screw driver.
Upon the need to remove the front bumper, attempting to undo the relevent bolts ended up with ripping chunks of rusted metal off the car. The upper two bolts holes above the bumper now no longer exist whist removing the bottom four resulted in much twisted metal.
There's not much left of the jacking points other than a battered rusty mess.
I though modern Alfas were galvenised? The car is only 8 years old. I've owned Fords with less rot that this Alfina. I was thinking about getting a 155 at some point, but I don't fancy the trouble if it's going to be a similar story.
