Alfa 146 ti rear brakes

Hi, can anyone tell me how easy it is to replace REAR pads and discs on a 146ti? Do I need a special tool to push back the pistons in the calipers?
Ec, etc, thanks Mike

You don't NEED a special tool but it helps. You can use a large G-clamp and water pipe pliers to apply pressure and turn the piston clockwise....but Halfords or other places sell a caliper wind back tool.

Apart from that they are simple enough, just make sure you set up the handbrake properly.

I did mine with a G clamp but it was a struggle (I'm crap with spanners though!) I'd buy a winding tool in future. The calipers are held on with two allen bolts (13mm I think) which need a good soak with WD40 as mine were tight as! Other than that its straight forward.

As others have said, get the piston wind back tool. It'll make your life much easier for the sake of a few quid. Infact, the pistons on mine were so stiff that I'd doubt I could have done without it.
