finally getting somewhere with this car after much hassle.it lasted a bit longer than 3 seconds haha story so far is.......
bought car of ebay immobilised with rebuilt engine for 143 quid, i thought not too bad just get 2nd ecu/masterkey etc to fix sooo i dropped on a brand new ecu for 34 quid on ebay took out transponder plugged in ecu car running yay.... errr not so the engine sounded like a cross between a tank, tractor, generator and a tarmac breaker it lasted 20 odd mins before all internals clashed together in a sickening noise :-( spent weeks trying to source a new engine for as cheap as possible until one appeared on ebay for 100 quid by now i was getting sick of it sitting on my drive doing nothing so i thought what the hell (fingers crossed that it wasnt a lump of junk) got a mechanic mate of mine to fit it and change cambelt/tensioners and clutch from old engine at the same time as they were brand new then take it for mot total cost there 140 quid now tomorrow is mot day (fingers crossed again) so hopefully i will be out and about in my next 146 and sell my old one i thought. not to be though im afraid as my current insurer will not insure me on this car and my renewal is up in 2 months which is when i get my 2 years no claims cert. so once again it will be sitting on my drive doing nothing. total cost of car to date..
car delivery £35
mechanic to tell me it only needed ecu £10
mechanic to change a few pins and fit ecu £20
van and diesel to fetch engine £95
fitting and mot £140
total so far £538
when it comes back i will post some pics of it so you can see it was worth it (please convince me it was)
