Master key only

Sorry to labour this key point, but I can't seem to find the answer to my problem on the forum. I bought a used 146 (1998) and got only the burgundy master key - no red copy key, and no code card. I am exactly the kind of person who will lose the master key sooner or later, but it seems I can't get a copy key cut without the code (nearest Alfa dealer in Limerick helpfully says he can do nothing for me and leaves it at that). Does anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone even know why Alfa used such an idiotic, infuriating system?

Re: Master key only

You should be able to buy red remote key blanks, have them cut and then using the master key programme the imobiliser to accept the new keys codes. I believe the master key is for doing this. And it is possible to memorise 14 keys apparently. You are certainly in a better position than if you had one red key and no master key.
I think I have seen red remote key blanks on e-bay before now.

Re: Master key only

Go to your local shoe repairer/key cutter, he should be able to code/cut you a Silca blank.

Re: Master key only

I don't know how true this is, But when I bought mine the dealer told me their was a maximum number of times that the master key can be used. It might be an idea to try to sort this out sooner rather than later.
