Is my airflow meter Knackered
Apologies for the title..
I need to know what anyone else thinks before I go for a new airflow meter.
The problems I have with my car as follows.. 90% of the time the car runs correctly, but on occasion the car will not idle correctly, the revs rising and falling as if the car is trying not to stall. Also when this problem occurs and the car is being driven the car will hesitate, and splutter, until the throttle is depressed in which instance it will then take off like a scalded cat. This usually happens when cruising at a steady speed, such as at the speed limit. I have tried Unplugging the AFM with the engine running and it doesn't seem to make a lot of difference although the injector light is on.
The car does not have any rattles from the variator as it was changed only 11k miles ago, as were all the belts etc. The car has also been fitted with a new thermostat and battery. Although the problem was there before this.
Thank you for your help.
