The garage that screwed up this job for me on my old 145 basically bodged the original ABS sensor into the incorrectly sized hole and did not tell me.
I discovered this when I was getting intermittent ABS triggering, that would conveniently happen as you were pulling up behind traffic at a junction. The effect being the stopping distance pretty much doubled!
Anyway, they did it with a self-tapping screw of some description, and the sensor was not flush, so i suspect not close enough to get a reliable signal. I'm afraid i sold the car soon after this (obviously declaring this fault), but I would imagine some sort of mod to get the sensor flush (such as opening the hole out), and then a fairly permanent adhesive might work?
