146 telespeed problems

hi, my wife got sold a dud 146. im just wondering if anyone has ever stripped down the telespeed ?
Im talking about the automatic here. Its now stuck in 1st gear ,startermotor in bits (needs replacing)
the problems with the telespeed that ive sofar found is,, fluid resvr gets fluid pushed back from box so that it overflows. Looks like it needs to come out and stripped down ?
anyone done this? has anyone a parts catalogue page showing a breakdown, or the workshop manual?
Any help most welcome.

I assume you mean Selespeed, but are you sure it is a 146 and not a 147 or 156?

Alfa didn't make a 146 Selespeed.

Must be a 147 Selespeed

I think youve over filled it.

The fluid is meant to return back to the reservoir when the car is not in use.

I'd get the starter motor fixed first as engine issues can get wrongly diagnosed as selespeed faults.

There have been a couple of 145/146 converted to Selespeed, so there is a chance it is one of those, but probably is a 147 or 156..
