cooling fan problem replaced
I have re-posted this message in a more appropriate place! (give me a chance I am new to this)
I have been endlessly searching for an answer to my boken fan problem on 145 2.0 TS. I will try to keep the history brief!
Car overheated and spat out a good deal of water, very nice man diagnosed blown 40 amp fuse, the car was recovered to my trusted local garage where it was further diagnosed as needing a new cooling fan. garage 'phones alfa dealear who insists on selling new radiator with cooling fan (a common problem apparently) I am not keen on the idea and insist that only a new fan is fitted. The fan is duly fitted and blows the fuse probably the first time it fires up (50 amp fuse fitted by trusted garage) To cut a long story short, I take the car to another garage which fits a second hand fan off a mondeo (sorry) problem ends. I have read the thread about a similar problem, I suspect a faulty batch of fans, anyone else had a similar problem? Is it reasonable to ask for a refund from the first garage?
