In which case hats off to you for embarking on such a thorough rebuild and investing heavily in what would otherwise be a deceased Cloverleaf.
Just one question though:
In mentioning that you were going to be fitting an LSD to the red one, do you find that the LSD was a more beneficial upgrade than the coilovers?
I was going to ask your opinion on the 20vT anti roll bars too, but I imagine their effect is a little bit difficult to assess in isolation as all of the work was carried out at the same time. Hopefully I'll find out for myself when the weather's a bit warmer as I've a pair of them sat in the back of the garage.
I tried to buy the red one too, but you just about beat me to it! :-)
The Red one is a lovely car, in a much better state than freebie was and a credit to her previous owner. A few issues as you expect, but nothing untoward.
The LSD transforms the car, I had a brand new one in 1996 & traction was the worst apect of the car, Freebie with the LSD is brilliant. The thicker ARBs make a big difference too, better turn in and less roll.
The coilovers are great, the problem is that the rear isnt height adjustable and its a bit too low as my daily drive is mostly small, rough country roads so Laurence is going to try to raise it a bit.
Im going to keep Red one more standard than Freebie, Freebie being a test bed car
but the LSD is essential.
I live is Basingstoke, if you are in Oxfordshire its not too far, could meet up & you can have ride in Freebie.
