Help Exhaust manifold.

How easy is it to change exhaust manifold gaskets?

One of mine is shot, and another is on it's way, so I need to get them changed instead of driving round in a car which is ticking more than a ticking thing in tickville. rolleyes.gif

Has anyone done it themselves??

Re: Exhaust manifold.

Easy man. Really easy.
Jack and support car at the front.
Remove the two bolts on the crossmember (running from under each of the wishbones) on the side nearest the exhaust manifold, loosen the two bolts on the opposite side.
This gives you room to pull the exhaust headers downwards.
Undo the 8 nuts on the manifold, you may need a very narrow socket, but sometimes it's not required.
Once all are off, pull down on the manifold, and remove and replace the gaskets.
Replacement is the reverse of removal.
(I always wanted to say that...)
