why blue cloverleaf on side skirts?

hi chaps.

can anyone enlighten me as to why the cloverleaf badge is green on the boot but blue on the skirts?

it has been suggested that the green badges fade to blue, but they are identical colours and doesn't appear likely to me.

any clues?

They are just blue..

Some are green and yet others quite clearly aren't or weren't.. .There was a suggestion that the green faded to blue but even new ones could be blue. I dunno if the blue or green depended on the colour of the car, or if it was completely random. Probably the latter..

Crikey! If you do a search, you'll find sop many arguments about this, you wouldn't believe.

I think that the blue ones were green initially, but the word 'fade' makes it hard to believe, as it's quite a strong blue colour (as I know, I had a 145 QV with blues all round).

I have come to believe that it's true that they have undergone some sort of chemical reaction resulting in that colour though.
