Interesting start problem!
I have just joined the forum so apologies if this thread is old hat to some of you.
I have a 146ti and recently had some issues with the relay block getting corroded so it was rewired and fixed...
Now I have a wierd intermittent problem I think related to the fuel pump / control box. When I try and start the car all warning lights will light and dissapear as per normal but the engine will not start - it will turn over fine but no start!
If I listen carefully when I first turn on the iginition normally I hear some kind of solenoid whir which I guess it injector or fuel pump related. If the car does not start then I do not hear that noise. HoweverI found this fix though....
1) Turn on the ignition and LEAVE ON.
2) Remove left most fuse in front engine relay block (the one near the battery) and replace. (you will hear something pneumatic sounding click and reset!
3) Remove right most fuse in relay block and replace
4) Start car - bingo!
Does anyone have the slightest idea what is going on?
