Was driving home last night, came out of a junction, booted it & got thrown round as the car jerked about like a kangaroo with a jack hammer!
Changed to 2nd, same thing.
Tried some gentle acceleration, and started OK, but eventually as speed built, the car kangarooed again
So I went down to the stretch of dual carriageway by my house & very gently accelerated in 3rd - hit 5000 rpm & my australian friend's back
Best I can figure is that the problem is related to throttle position - it seems to be when the throttle is 1/3 to 1/2 way depressed.
Did wonder if it was the clutch but, since investigatory running was with the clutch up, don't think that's the problem.
Had a similar (worse!) problem with my FIAT Uno - under full throttle the 2nd choke stayed open some times - as I found out while racing another Uno
Need less to say I lost.
Could this be a similar fuelling problem? - maybe the bypass valve on the throttle or the (whisper it) AFM?
Any suggestions welcome, (those that are inexpensive doubly so!)
