Some news, some help, some observation
For the last 3 weeks my 146 has been having its 8 little exhaust valves and all the other bits and pieces to make it a proper engine again replaced..why..because apparently the water pump (also replaced) decided it was going to go all stiff causing the timing belt (drive force for the water pump) to slip, one minute your engine runs, next it doesent..so little expression for so much trouble/money...still its back and I am happy again except for the fact I had only replaced the belt and tensioners 2 months before (should have done the water pump)
Anyway I digress, I really need to know if there is some way to get to the areial and the coaxial cable without stripping the roof lining off?
I have tried to get at it by taking the interior light fitting off but there is a steel plate running the width of the roof.
I have had to fit an infernal aerial that is frankly rubbish because there is zero, not even a hiss when the roof mounted is connected and the co ax from the radio end disapears into a dark narrow, tight space and the pet spider refuses to go in and take another look.
In the mean time I shall mostly be seaching for links on the idle actuator-cleaning of as the idle is a little erratic....oh nearly forgot it may have been an indication that the water pump was shot by the fact that the water level in the expansion tank, after topping up would after a few days, fall to below the min level but not go below that.....strange
Sorry to go on but have been away as it were.
