24K Service nightmare
I have to tell as many people as I can about the nightmare I have just had with Alfa Romeo in Perth.
Car went in at 8.30am for 24k service. Car was in perfect working order when I dropped it off. Picked the car up just after 5pm and started the drive home. Got some petrol and got on the motorway. As soon as I get up to 2500 rpm car is mis-firing really badly ?!?!?! What the f*** is going on. Call Alfa in Perth. Sorry mate nothing we can do, bring it back tomorrow( I live 30 miles away, they know this). My blood is now boiling so I take the car to CP Motors, a local Alfa specialist. After a 2 second test drive they confirm, mis-fire.
To cut a long story short, there was about 2 inches of oil drowning both no1 spark plugs. This is now sorted.
I call Alfa in Perth the next day. Explain my findings and am told by the service manager that this is a coincidence and was nothing to do with them. My blood is now boiling again. The check list for the service shows that they took the car for a test drive. Why didn`t they report mis-fire to me ? Also, they say they did an emissions test, how did the car pass without a CAT ? No response.
An angry letter to the manager enclosing the invoice for rectifying the misfire has been sent along with a requset for a refund of the £250 I paid for the service.
Do we think I`ll get a reply ?
