146 2.0 TS ti maf queries,
After the miss's complaining of terrible mpg I decided to check the car out a bit.
(Feb 98, 4 pin maf plug version)
We haven't had it long, so have little experience with this particular car, but I suspect the culprits are a tired maf, a leaking exhaust, and a rattling catalyst, both will be replaced with my own performance stuff soon anyway, so I'm not overly concerned about them.
However, having got the required maf readings from another helpful member and thread, I found my original bosch sensor way down on the supposed signal voltages, which should be 1-2v at idle, and 3-4v between 2000 & 3000rpm, according to autodata.
But, I've now tried various new sensors, ranging from the ebay cheap, to decent autofactor versions, including pierburg and bosch again.
They all measure similar, barely 1v at a warmed idle, and take getting on for 3500/4000 rpm to exceed 2v, about the same as what I thought was my failing bosch original.
So, could autodata be wrong?
Or is a brand new Alfa boxed bosch item for £300 the only way to go? Surely not!
Anyone else care to measure theirs?
All comments and measurements appreciated.
