p1 145 idle problem.

as above, this seems to have manifested itself since changing back from squadra to standard chip.
definate splutter/jolt when giving it beans in 4rth gear, and sometimes fails to idle at all when cold.
seems to be running around 70c which i assume is a bit low.
un plugged maf and lamda,no difference. and also disconnected battery and left to idle 15 mins (when it eventually decided to let me) then took for for a "spirited" drive.
any suggestions peeps?

A Motorbike ;)

i think to perform an ECU reset properly, you need to disconnect the battery for at least 45 mins, and then when you start it, leave it to idle for 10 mins.

have a look on this thread http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...ml#post3714071
i think it is in there somewhere after post #8

hope it helps

The thermostat is a bit low.. but that should make the beast run slightly rich which would tend to help it run, especially idle, when something is not quite right..

Stick a new stat in there..

The misfire.. sounds like a plug/HT fault. Does the injector light flash when it misfires?

Have a peek inside each plug well.. (you have to remove the coils) and see if there's any oil or gloop inside there. Take each plug out and see if they have any meat left on the electrodes. Check the connections between coil and the leads and plug boots.. (but particularly where the leads fit into the front of the coils).

Clean, fettle, replace, re-try..
