After 2 weeks of bliss she's really let me down today. On start-up she will die on many occasions, if she doesn't she idles very poorly at hardly any revs. She's been cutting-out at lights and I have to keep revving her to prevent stalling, which is very fuel consuming and hard work!
What's the problem? Please tell me isn't not going to be costly, I read about a similar problem someone had with their 146 at the Car review website Car Survey.org. Is this in any way related to needing a new variator?
As Bazza and Sergio say, probably not the variator, but something that controls the fuelling like a temp. sensor. If the problem started suddenly and happens every time then perhaps it's something like a broken wire or a connector fallen off.
