Burning smell around belts
I have had a burning smell for a long time. It started from an oil leak from the cam cover gasket which was changed 4000 km ago.
Today I sniffed around a little and noticed the smell is from the belt area.
Both belts along with tensioners and idlers were changed last year by an Alfa garage and the alternator was changed very shortly after by a general garage.
I can see that the exhaust manifold cover and alternator are both still covered with the old oil leak, so the smell could be from that.
There's no apparent changes in fluid levels apart from the usual engine oil consumption.
Any ideas? I will try to clean up the old leak areas to my best and see what happens.
