A bit more help needed . My girlfriend's 145 cloverleaf failed its mot on two points. Buckled wheel apparantly although it drives fine but the bloke has said he will do it for £25. Also the wiper has scratched the window in the passenger side corner, so needs new windscreen and wipers. The new wipers fair enough but surely its not in the driver's line of sight there?
Anyway apart from it seeming to me that the garage just thought young girl 2.0 litre car lets rob her blind does anyone know where to get windscreens either fitted or repaired and where do you get the new style wiper arms as they are currently the old one piece non replaceable blades. Cheers for your help.
How deep are the scratches if they are not too deep you can get them polished out (my insurance does repairs for free) and you can buy refils for your wipers from the dealer part no. 5901369 price £8.77.
But will appear as a fault claim next time you phone for a quote...at least it did with me
Shouldn't be. Every insurance company I've been with, windscreen replacement has been £50 excess, no effect on no claims, doesn't have to be declared.
There are definite guidelines on what parts of the windscreen can have marks of what size, find them and check it yourself, see if he's ripping her off.
Cheers for all the responses. Her insurance have said they will replace the windscreen for £50 like you all said. I didn't think they would as it is a scratch rather than a chip but hopefully the Alfa will be on the road again next week. Didn't realise you could get refills so will give Alfa a call cheers, and thanks for the part number if Alfa are anything like Renault it's invaluable to stop them messing it up.
