Price of a 145 1.8 TS
Be holy God almighty!
Looking at a 1.8 TS 145 at the moment.
I saw/drove it yesterday.
It's a 1997 with 51k documented miles on the clock.
The interior is velour, VGC.
New mats (trick #1 when selling a car...!).
The engine had the variator, lambda and cam-belt done some 9k ago, and appears to run well.
Full service history is available was checked also. (TI Autos)
NCT is up in May, but only had a minor problem on it's last one two years ago.
The exterior is polished, with no evidence of brush washing. No dents exist on the body panel.
A slight knock on the front bumper has lead to some minor crazing, and also a power-hose took off a bit of paint on the black part of the bumper. Nothing to worry about.
Tyres are P6000's and have another 10k on them. Rims are good condition, no scratches, teledials I think.
Steering is tight and doesn't wander up front (Bushes are OK).
1. There is a knocking sound when going over bumps from the rear.
2. Rear brakes make a horrible grating sound when reversing, but work well when used in both directions!!! Owner said that TI Autos had a look but think that it's the pads. (It's there for 9k miles!!!) That's a bit suspect.
So, I think I will look at it again and see can I spot any damage to the rear from a shunt, or any off-road excursions on the front lower stiffener.
Owner is looking for €3950. I feel that this is approx €500 too high as it's a 97.
Any comments on the price...? What would you pay?
