I just got the car back from the garage. I wanted a starting problem checked out. The engine would crank but not start and often seemed like no combustion was happening. When finally started it would caugh alot and start off very jittery.
When I picked it up the guy at the garage said electrical systems are all fine, and he thinks it's just water in the chamber causing misfiring. His best solution was disconnecting the amplifier at the back which he claims takes some current during starting causing a bad start.
I brought the car home and first time I tried starting it was same old misfiring story (even with the amp disconnected!).
I do happen to have to do many short trips which is probably making the condensation worse. But now I'm gonna avoid any trip shorter than 10 min and see if the problem goes away.
Fluid level changes are negligible and I have not done a compression test. MAF & idle control valve are new.
If the problem is condensation, any idea what causes it and makes it worse? Any engine issues I should look out for?
