After years of drueling over alfas's i have finally obtained one , a 155 v6 m reg .I have fully serviced it, racing pads , new disc's , cam belt etc even a a chip .However ,how can i tell if it has a quick rack or not ? and plus , does anyone know where i can find out about alfa track days ?
Only wide-body 155s (but not all) had a quick rack. They were produced from mid-1996. Your M-reg car is unlikely to be a wide body or have a quick rack.
Tut tut Bill..did you not read my little article
Widebodies were available from April/May 1995 and I know of one M reg wideboy. The quick rack should be 2.2 turns lock to lock and I think was only fitted to the 16v'ers in general although again we know of at least one V6 with the quickrack. As said above, Alfa's use a "quicker! rack than most of the period anyway, my V6 rack is about 3 turns lock to lock. However, I suspect Bill is right that yours will be a skinny boy and therefore not have the 2.2 Quickrack....sorry.
