Hmmm Immobiliser problem?

Hello all,
The problem I've been having is with my alfa 146 2.0ti. It seems to be an immobiliser problem. Its start fine one minute then it wont. The key code light seems to have a mind of its own. It will go out once then next time it wont. Some times the will go out and the car will still not start.. Usually I have to lock the car then unlock it a few times and then it will start? Has anyone had any similar problems and if so what was the problem.

Make sure you're not using the master key.
Clean the conections on the code key ECU, which is a yellow box located above the front of the fusebox, behind the trim in front of your right knee.
Check the relays and their associated connectors/wiring near the battery.
