Howdy, I've been having an issue with what appears to be the ABS kicking in at low speeds during gentle braking. Only seems to do it under approx 25mph and it's very intermitant. It's usually the last little tap on the brakes before a junction, the brake pedal goes stiff and I can feel a few pulses. However, if I press a bit harder it clears and the pedal returns to normal..
It's been at my local Alfa specialist who has been able to track down a fault as yet as it's so intermitant. He ran a diagnostic which showed no errors (the ABS light never comes on by the way) and also did a dynamic test with the wheels off the ground but no fault was found. Front discs and pads were changed as they needed doing but no change. Rear discs/pads were done a couple of months ago.. strangely around the time when I started noticing the issue. Can't see what the link would be..?
Anyhow I'm going to pull the ABS fuses this morning and run it for a while to see if the fault persists.. if it goes away at least we can 100% concentrate on the ABS system.
Anyone come across anything similar or have any other thoughts on how to track the fault down?
