Fault codes

Hi all
First meaningful post on here!
I have recently got a 98 146 1.6 TS and since I got it the injector light on the dash has been lit.
I got together the bits needed to interrogate the ECU to get the fault codes using an old laptop, rs232-OBD2 lead, OBD2 to 3pin adapter and KWP71 software and got the following error codes:

Read diagnostic faultcodes :
Bytes received: 08 F2 11 48 80 25 A2 45 92 7F
DTC: 0x08 = 8
state : 7
type : 0x12 unknown
condition1 : 0x11
condition2 : 0x48
counter : 0x80
DTC: 0x25 = 37
state : 5
type : 0x02 Short circuit at GND
condition1 : 0x45
condition2 : 0x92
counter : 0x7F

I'd be obliged if someone could look at these and see if I am interpreting these correctly,

the second one is battery 'short circuit at ground', I suspect this may have been stored from before I got the car as the battery was a dead duck, I'll check it again in the morning as it may no longer be present.
the first one is listed in the fault codes as 'engine timing sensor', is this the crankshaft sensor? If so where is it and is it difficult to fix?

Quite chuffed that I managed to get the diagnostic working, if anyone in the Derby area needs some fault codes reading/resetting give me a shout.

Any help appreciated

As you already saw, I've posted a reply to the same question you also posted on Alfa145.com...

Re: Fault codes

Please don't tell me that is Unidiag your using.

Get some really usfull software like AlfaDiag Alfa Romeo Diagnostic Software or saddle up and come for a toottle down to wilts for a day, where I'll get to the bottom of it for you.

I'd suspect the cam position sensor though, so are the revs limited to 3.5K?

Re: Fault codes

GiallaEvo94 - Thanks for the reply on the other site, will take your advice.

Smaky - the software is KWP71 which was a free download from somewhere else. Can't stretch to AlfaDiag as been out of work for a month and I'm too far from Wilts, thanks though for the offer. The camshaft position sensor seems like the likely candidate but revs are not limited, pulls great all the way to 7k.
