Removing seat cover

Just bought a new piece of foam to go in the base of my driver's seat as it was getting a bit worn. How do you remove the cover from the base of the seat? (my car is a 2000 145 Cloverleaf, leather seats).

I managed to start to remove it but came accross a major snag. There are a number of metal bars running through the cover and also in the foam, these appear to be joined together by triangular shaped split ring type things, I've managed to undo a couple but the rest I just can't get at. Any ideas?

Thanks for any help you can give

Re: Removing seat cover

i managed somehow to carefully slide the metal bars through the rings and the cover holes, releasing the cover. putting back together it’s a bit more challenging. but on the repair manuals, alfa instructs to cut off the rings and put new ones. i think you can manage that by fitting some ordinary paper clips. not sure what’s the best solution.
