Hello to all, and a big thanks to those that put forward various solutions. We decided to go in from the underside for various reasons - not least of all because I had access to a ramp. Anyway, to cut a long story short, it was a bxxger of a job - but mainly because every nut, bolt, clip, and geegaw was seized, rusted, and jammed!
Anyway, it 's done and we are back on the road again.....foraging a lonely Alfa road in Wester Ross (I hardly ever see another up here, save for a GT about 20 miles down the road!).
