Set off from a junction today and the car spun ever so slightly - had to get out before a car hit me!
Anyway, the car made a clunk, then after a few seconds made a huge Bang. Pulled over and viewed a 40 yard trail of gearbox oil going back behind me! I was only 100 yards from home so limped it back there - it drover perfectly fine at 5 mph and changed gear fine (although I never ran it through all the gears).
Got the wheel off and took a look - big hole in the side of the gearbox. Not quite on the bell housing but quite close.
Strange as there was no clunking before the incident and it has been driving fine.
Anyone any ideas? And has anyone got a gearbox for a 145QV!
