Brake caliper rebuilds.

Having stripped the near side rear caliper, I'm having a spot of trouble putting it back together again. Anyone done this before?

I've unscrewed the piston from the caliper, cleaned everthing and now I can't screw it back into the caliper. I've been careful not to damage any seals, but its annoying it wont go back together.....

I know inside the piston there is another mechanism held in with a clip and that also must be still when I'm turning the piston? Or do I have to pull the hand brake mechanism shaft out first?

Re: Brake caliper rebuilds.

Nope, you just push AND wind it in at the same time, just make sure the dust seal is sat in the calliper side groove before you try and fit the piston.
