Thumbs Up immobiliser warning light

firstly thank u all - i replaced my crankshaft sensor and the car is perfect now - THANK U.

Now my next problem - i hope i am correct when i describe the problem - please help.

when u usually put the key in the ignition the key symbol goes out and the car starts but lately it will not go out and the car wil not start. After switching on and off the ignition for a few times it wil eventually go off and the car starts.

Last nite it did not want to start and my wife was stuck away at her friends house. I had to go and collect her and just tried again a few times and eventually it started. Home ok but what the solution. Hav replaced the battery in the remote not long ago

help please and thank u again

Re: immobiliser warning light

Most likely problem are corroded or dodgy connections to the fuses and relays that are located around the battery. Take all these out and clean up the connections really well then tighten up the spade connectors by squeezing them together slightly with some pliers.

Re: immobiliser warning light

as GE says, the BBoB strikes again, may also be worth popping the top off the relays and giving them a clean with contact cleaner as you can also get a build up of crud that stop the relay working properly.
