Hi again guys..A few problems all Electric based.
After the car failed its MOT due to a broken rear fog light, the centre decided that it was the switch on the stalk that needed replacing, and instead of replacing with a £90 official one, they cut a hole on my steering column and placed a switch in there.
Im not happy about this at all, as its unsightly, unoriginal and I had no say in the matter. It got the car through its MOT though.
Anyway, the other day we replaced the standard radio with a head unit that plays cds, and as we had the radio out, I noticed a black wire with a red clip just sitting there not connected to anything. There was also another set of wires coming from the loom, with a white plastic connector, which had been wrapped in foam and sealed with tape.
Is it possible that this thin black wire with the red end is the Fog Light, and simply disconnected???
Also, any ideas what the thicker wire wrapped in foam is?
PS Why are there no Haynes Manuals for the 145/146??
Since the car had its MOT, the rear window and wing Mirrors no longer demist, even when the switch is depressed.
Weve checked the fuses, and they all seem ok. Could it be the relay or something ??
Cheers for any help guys, these are just little niggling problems that are preventing me from enjoying driving 100%.
