also i hate to diss a fellow alfa forum pal but hangten is not helping you out here but has provided incorrect/un-clear information. The reason your car runs richer when cold is as follows. On the majority of modern fuel injected cars there are two major states of running. There is closed loop where the ecu ignores all it's sensor readings and runs on a stored ignition and fuelling map. and there is open loop where the ecu takes into account the readings from- cam sensor, crank sensor, airflow meter, intake air tempreture sensor, coolant temp sensor, lambda probe etc etc. normally the reason your car would be running rich is because the ecu is being foiled into running on closed loop- usually by one or more inaccurate sensor readings.
