hi guys
the fan on our 145 wasnt going too good in fact hardly blowing at all at any speed, next thing theres a burning smell and grey smoke coming out of the center vents........... not good
do you think this is the fan motor or some other resistor or some such thing burned out?

I'd say motor has / is burning out, jammed with something. Once the resistor has gone, it's gone....

My thoughts too. Something amiss with the fan by the sounds of it. Getting to at and replacing the fan isn't for the faint hearted and involves removing half the dashboard. A "how-to" guide on how to get to the fan (and how to replace it if necessary) here... - Heater Fan: Fitting A New One

If the resistor burns out then you will get nothing on any speed setting except position number 4.
