Snatching, jerky throttle on 145

Howdy.. I have a problem with a jerky engine at small throttle openings together with heavy decceleration on over-run. It's can be pretty severe particularly when in a low gear..! I've a brand new Bosch MAF fitted recently which hasnt helped so all I can think of is a dodgy throttle sensor/idle control.. Is there a reliable way to test the throttle output without diagnostic software..?

Yes there is a free test, first unplug the MAF and go for a drive, if that cures it then it's the MAF, but also do an ECU reset as that may cure it itself.

Otherwise inspect the plugs and coilpacks for damage.
