146 heater resistor

Can anybody please help. I am trying to replace the heater resistor on my 1996 146. I have removed the lower dash and glove box, but cannot see where the resistor is. Other posts indicate it should be by the heater fan is that correct or is it on the heater matrix? Any help greatly appreciated, a picture would be even better. Many thanks

Re: 146 heater resistor

The resistor is attached to the fan body itself, which is behind / above the glove box.

Re: 146 heater resistor

If I remember rightly... I think there is a resistor which is screwed in next to the fan..

Re: 146 heater resistor

That big green resistor pack is for the internal fan speed selector. (heat or cold) It is paced right next to the fan to keep it cool. There is a thermal fuse on the resistor pack to protect the resistor from burning up. If the thermal fuse is blown the fan will only work on max.
