As a last point, I don't think sce history is vital with older cars, as long as the owner can prove it's been looked after with all receipts for parts, etc. For example, I wouldn't pay £200 for a sce on mine each year as the oil is (well, was but now it's running fully synth so will be every 12 months) changed twice per year) and as parts fail I have them replaced immediately. Provided common sense is used, regular oil and filter changes (and of course air filter) have taken place, I don't think full sce history is essential. After all, what is a sce other than a glorified oil-change and a once-over?
