Right... a bit of troubleshooting is required...
Testing the circuit as it is with a multimeter is going to prove SFA because the impedence of the heater elements is so small, it will be hard to determine whether there is a fault or not.
So what you need to do is the following:
Remove the plugs which connect the wiring of the heater elements on the window to the wire loom. These are located in the rear boot lid behind the plastic coving. There is a chance that one of these has slipped off by itself, and is shorting...
Once it's off, get another fuse, a smaller one this time to limit damage, say 10A, and place it in the fuse holder and press the demister button.
If the fuse blows, you have a bare wire rubbing off the chassis!
