An Embarassing Moment

Was at my Local KFC on Saturday night in an attempt to keep the tribe happy,

Waiting in the drive through as you do, when for no apparent reason the clover decided to start revving by itself between 1500 and 2500 rpm. Switched off, restarted in a vain hope that it would go away but it was still doing the same.
Not wanting to look like a saxo driver I reversed out of the drive through (luckily no one behind ) and legged it home to invesigate.
As I pulled into the street, I lost power, Injection light came on and it cleared itself. Had the lambda sensor changed at last MOT.
Any ideas ??

Had a similar problem after I disconnected the idle actuator on my '99 145QV. Turned out that by doing this the ECU had lost its parameters. The main sysmptom was the fact that it would not idle below 1500 - 2000rpm.

Had to take the car to the local Alfa Specialist to have the ECU reset. Took them about 30 mins.

Sounds like you could have something similar?

I think maybe it's a reflection on the cars good taste and it was it's own way of telling you to stay away from KFC !! Only bad things will come for those who mess with the dark side of fast food...............
