<strong>OK, bit of advice needed:
They've ordered a 'helicoil kit' which is costing £80, which it seems I'm expected to pay. But the way they were talking about it made it seem like it's a kit which will be used up on my car.
Does anyone know what a helicoil kit is like?
If it gets used up on my car then obviously I'm happy to pay for it, but if it's like a toolkit for fitting a helicoil, and they'll still have use of it afterwards, then I'm not keen on paying the whole cost.
This is going to make the cost of an oil change about £180! eek! </strong><hr /></blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">A new sump is cheaper than that!!!
Not sure on helicoils, never worked with them. Cant you just open the hole out & then rethread it with a tap & die set, then find a big FO bolt, shorten it and use that?
Is it that bad that on O ring & loctite won't seal it?
Websites are like ********s, everyone has one, and im wary of any bloke trying to direct people into their's
