146ti clutch change
It’s time to change the clutch I think, before the release bearing gets any louder. Has anyone here done this on a 146ti? I’ve read the workshop manual and that has raised a few questions……
The manual says use special tools for supporting the engine and gearbox, will an assortment of axle stands and trolley jacks work just as well?
Will a standard shop bought clutch alignment tool work in place of the Alfa one – any recommendations? Or does anyone hire out the alignment tool and the one for holding the flywheel fixed while you take the clutch off?
The manual only mentions disconnecting the left hand drive shaft – is this correct – where does the right hand side one go then? (I haven’t started crawling underneath to look yet).
Do I need any other bits beside the clutch, release bearing, g/box oil. Is there any gasket or sealant between the g/box and engine that needs replacing?
How long does the job take?
Any other hints/tips?
Thanks in advance...
