well, i got a green cotton induction kit and a decent exhaust (sorry - don't know which make) on my 1.7
It certainly sounds good. Not sure if it's any faster cos I've never tried it without these bits.
A chip certainly seems like a good idea - if the same engine in the 33 can develop 137hp stock, no reason why the 145 can't.
Could also de cat it: the cat certainly strangles the 1.7 engine (i've owned one 1.7 without a cat in a 33, a 1.7 with a cat in a 33 and a 1.7 with a cat in a 145).
Cams seem like a bad idea. The engine needs enough revs to go anywhere as it is. racy cams would mean you'd need to redline it just to get away from the lights.
Anyone else got an opinion on this? I've been thinking along similar lines: it'd be nice to have more power thana cloverleaf without having to fork out the cash for one.
Has anyone tried chipping a 1.7? Which chip?? Is the power noticeable?? What about fuel economy??
156 2.4jtd working it's way towards perfect condition. Loving the diesel warpage!
