I had the wide oval straight, but had they had the letterbox in stock, I might have had that instead. Don't get the carbon one, it looks toss. Bear in mind that your rear bumber has a cut-out for the exhaust, and if you fit one which doesn't match the size of that cut-out, it's look daft. Just ask them if you can take a few out and put them next to the car, s you can see what they look like, that's what I did.
Regarding the number of silencers, the standard has 3, one directly behind the cat, one strangely triangular one half way down, and the backbox. They don't have an equivalent to the weird one anyway, so you'll have to go down to 2 silencers. This is what I've done, and I'm incredibly pleased with the results, sound wise. Are you coming to Oulton Park tomorrow? You could hear it then.
If you're planning on a de-cat, then I certainly wouldn't remove 2 of the silencers, I expect removing the cat will increase the noise a fair bit.
My powerflow exhaust, with 2 silencers is:
At idle v. quiet, just a slight burbling noise to tell you it has a sporty exhaust on.
Cruising at 80: Quieter than it was with the standard exhaust on! Of course, the standard exhaust was a bit shagged...
Accelerating hard: Makes quite a sound, but since it's a fantastically sexy sound, and it complements the engine note, doesn't drown it out, this is a great thing.
Accelerating normally: Noticeable, but not overpowering.
