146 questions for the boys!
I’m back from 24hr Le Mans, all tanned and I’ve got my fix of fast cars for the year. Pity it was a fix though, IMHO Bentley didn’t deserve to win it in that fashon.
I picked up my new 146 from the guy I bought it from, but there is something very unusual with it… My understanding is that it is a 1.6 boxer (it has the same engine as my 145) but the piston bore could be wider for all I know. On the rear boot lid, it has the official Alfa ‘1.6 T-Spark’ name badge. To further confuse matters, it also has ABS on all four disk brakes.
It was my understanding that only the Cloverleaf came with disks all round.
So questions are: How can I tell whether the engine is a 1.6 or a 1.7 boxer? (other than measuring the bore…?). Also could this car be a special UK specification with disks all round, and my great deal has just become an excellent deal??? :-)
For Sale: Alfa Romeo Spark Plugs - NGK laser platinum, 10mm & 14mm. PM me.
