164 3.0 24v V6 Cam belt

Looking at my service history, the belt was changed at 75,000 miles (presumably this should of been the 72,000 mile change as stated in the service schedule). The car has now completed 104,000 miles and runs like a dream. Is NOW the time to change the belt and tensioner as a matter of caution, or do I wait until 120,000/140,000 miles etc. I can't see a part listing for a tensioner on the last cam belt change.

Mmmmm decisions, decisions!

Any advice appreciated...

If you can afford to get it done then get it done. 36k is the proper time to get it done although you could get lucky and it will last way longer...but if you are not lucky then you don't want to think about the damage that gets caused when one of those breaks at 5000rpm.

I suggest you get the tensioner done at the same time, skimping on anything on a engine of this sort tends to cause untold heartache.
