I think its worthwhile getting an oil change or something prior to the test, so when its up on the ramps the mechanics can have a quick look over and you have a chance to change anything that might cause an MOT failure.
Lighter car I suppose so less likely to wear out the suspension as fast. Still, one set of wishies in 70K miles would be considered fine on any car not just an Alfa. My JTD was on its 5th set of top arms when I sold it, at over 120k miles. But that was with a big lump over the front wheels. And lots of speedbumps..
my fav bit was the "Front indicator aint orange enough mate" quote as for the handbrake efficiency, I knew it was going to be close, even had the brake pads already, just didnt have time to fit them before, damn close though
