Personally I love the 147GTA. It's definitely one of my dream cars but... looking it’s a bit far from my wallet capabilities the J12 kit (with the 1.6) is something that I could afford in a couple of years... I wouldn't change anything on the body of my Bella but, of course, suspensions and brakes are an obligation.
I still think it's a joy to surprise anyone who thinks has a faster car. In fact... dull and not so fast.
The GTA takes me to a different dream. I can’t say anything about performances (as what’s in the papers is a different thing from the real road performance and, only someone who drove both can have a word!!!!!) but it makes me dreaming with my eyes open. That V6 is a glory and a symphony to my hears. I just love it. Including the interior. I just love it. But that’s just a matter of taste.
Anything as real as a stopwatch can’t be a matter of taste! It’s reality!
From zero I would go for a GTA, definitly. Coming from a 1.6 or a 2.0 the J12 is the best option, no doubt.
Btw, just a small story to amuse you guys… last Monday, late evening, I was going home and driving around 80 km/h. Before I got on the speedway, a typical boy racer overtook me in his Peug 106Gti (bodykit, low profile, special exhaust…. Blá blá blá…) He was driving fast... But after saw me he drove more or less at the same speed as me. In fact I thought he was joking.
After about 800m, as he saw I didn’t care, he started to drive faster... probably around 110/120. And I just let him go... for a km. He saw me again (as he was expecting that, he was driving slowly again) and I approached his Peug rear. (Zee knows – it’s the N14 – ViaNorte – coming to Maia) That speedway becomes from a dual lane to a single lane and then dual lane again – this going up a bit. I was behind that guy at the same speed as he and no traffic at all. When the single lane became in two I stepped in 3rd and we pushed at the same time... 5000giri, 6000, 7000, 7.300 and changed 4th...
The fact is… he ended looking at my green cloverleaf at my Bella’s trunk when we arrived to the top of that small rise. Believe me or not.
I bet he was realllllyyyy surprised and, I might say, I was very pleased.
Imagine with a J12!!!
It might be a childish attitude but sometimes I can't stand provocative drivers.
