i want to go faster... :)

hey folks

had my cloverleaf about 15 months now and still love it... I've done all the servicing properly at an excellent specialist with no expense spared.

She still makes me smile but I have to admit I wouldn't mind throwing a few notes at it if I can make it slightly quicker, even though I've been careful to keep the car 100% original spec and all alfa parts.

It's a Mk1 1998 model so I assume it's 150bhp, not 155, but I'd really like to shave a little time off the standing start.. has anyone got any ideas?

I've heard mixed reactions about the chip, noone seems 100% happy after changing the airbox..

Any opinions greatly received...

Sold my 145QV before i went travelling.. now loving my 02 rosso spider

There's some tuning advice here:

The 150 bhp engine is the sweetest of the two, and 5 bhp is neither here nor there to be honest. You would get the same benefit of 5 bhp by leaving the spare wheel and back seat at home. Failing that, have a good dump, a number 1 haircut, and run less than a quarter tank of fuel.

Switching your front fog lights on doesn't cost anything and the current concensus is it's worth at least 10mph on your top speed or a second off your 0-60. You'll be able to smoke Supras no problem.

Put some stickers on it, a big MOTORSPORT across the fron windscreen. Maybe it'll help the earodynamics a little. It will look faster, anyway. wink

Buy lots of helium balloons and tie them to the wheels. This will reduce the unsprung weight resulting in better acceleration AND better handling.

See Jano at autodelta wink oh, and get the cheque book ready.

Cheapish stuff
1. Airfilter
2. Exhaust (remove the cat)
3. Chip
4. Handling (strutts, springs, dampers etc)
5. Unscrew the bolt under the accelerator pedal wink

1. Racing cams
2. Turbos

the list goes on and on, speak to Jano though
