I've never really dared go near the engine of my Alfa for anything other than oil and water, as I have a brilliant specialist who "looks after" the thing for me. I rebuilt the engine on my motorbike when I was about 13 (with a little help) and from then on decided that its a lot more fun giving someone else the hassle when it goes wrong, rather than knowing its a case of "did i definately tighten up that..."....
However whilst looking under the engine bay last night I thought I'd run a couple of things past you guys to see what I get back:
1) The cover over the spark plugs has a bit of surface corrosion and god forbid I look at selling the thing it would look a lot better to have a fresh one. It looks like it's about 6 allen key sockets to remove but it's not connected to anything significant which may fall off and double the time on the job is it? Plus - has anyone orderred one of these from Alfa before (ie does anyone know what they cost?) - its the panel which has the writing on it.
2) My bonnet holder-upper
has come off and it's now a bit of a pain propping the bonnet up. The arm itself looks ok but I presume there is some sort of plastic clip which holds the arm on from under the wheelarch side - can you get these also, is that much of a job?
Thanks for reading this far folks...
I'm off to get (yet) more quotes for tyres
